The Center for Change is a small group of independent private mental health practitioners (Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers, Psychiatric Nurse, Life Coaches) who provide a range of services for adults, families, adolescents and children.

Jill Reed, Psy.D.

Jill Reed, Psy.D., M.S.W., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Quality of Life Coach. She is the Director of Referral Services at the Center for Change and the President of Change for Good Coaching, LLC (www.ChangeforGoodCoaching.com). Dr. Reed holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School and a Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University. She has practiced as a Psychotherapist for over 19 years. Dr. Reed works with older adolescents and adults in individual, couples and group therapy. She received Life Coach training from the Mentor Coach Institute and the Quality of Life Therapy and Coaching Program, and is qualified to conduct Quality of Life Inventory (QOLI) Assessments

Sara Abbott, LCSW

Sara Abbott, LCSW, is a Psychotherapist with 20 years of practice experience. She received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Sara works with children, adolescents and adults at the Center for Change.

Barbara Deutsch, LCSW

Barbara Deutsch, LCSW, is a Psychotherapist with over 18 years of practice experience. She received a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and a Master's in Counseling from Long Island University. She has special interests in working with children and adolescents. Barbara is qualified to perform New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Alcohol and Substance Abuse evaluations.

Leslie Hand, LCSW

Leslie Hand, LCSW, has been practicing as a Psychotherapist for over 25 years. She received a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University. She provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults at the Center for Change.

Nancy Scherlong, LCSW

Nancy Scherlong, LCSW, P.T.R., is a Psychotherapist and Life Coach. She received her Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University and has 11 years of practice experience as a Psychotherapist. Nancy is a registered poetry writing therapist; a Level II E.M.D.R. trained clinician, and Advanced Level Somatic Experiencing practitioner, and has been trained in Internal Family Systems. Nancy works with older children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples, family and group therapy. Her approach to psychotherapy is eclectic and often incorporates creative art therapies and a focus on the mind-body connection.

Helaine Shimel, M.S.N.

Helaine Shimel, M.S.N., has been practicing as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist for 28 years. She received her graduate degree from the Medical Center at the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1977 and holds a certificate in Family Therapy from The Center for Family Learning in Rye Brook, NY. She specializes in the treatment of psychological trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and works with adults and adolescents in individual and family therapy.

Sally Solari, LCSW

Sally Solari, LCSW, has 15 years of practice experience as a Psychotherapist. She received her Master's in Social Work and a Post-graduate Certificate in Interpersonal Trauma from Fordham University. Sally also holds a Certificate in Family Therapy from the Ackerman Family Institute and a Certificate in Psychotherapy from the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She works with children, adolescents and adults.
